Goal 1: Sub-30-minute 5k (completed)
One of my goals for 2025 was to run a 5k (3.1 mi) in under 30 minutes. I did that last month! My first 5k race time was 28 minutes. Perfect. I have been reading Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins, and it has me seriously considering working towards an ultramarathon one day. After I met my sub-30-minute 5k goal, I decided to just start early prepping for a half marathon we signed up for in January of 2026. Most plans are only 23 weeks, so I'm just going to do two half marathon training plans back-to-back. I should probably be ready by then. After that I'll start marathon training, hopefully, and maybe one day do an ultra.
I don't really love running, I guess I'm addicted to the feeling of pride at the end of each run. It also helps me sleep like a baby. My longest run is 6 miles, and my fastest mile at this moment is 8:45. It's fucking hot, so I run around 6 am to spare myself from our star, The Sun. I have also started cutting and have lost 10 lbs since January, which I think has helped with running and pull-ups.
Goal 2: Cash Flow My Side Project
I've been going MAD on this one. Just a few hours every day, but that's more than enough to make a difference. Last month my priority was to just do one small thing a day on the project, and that helped me with consistency and not faltering. Even if I don't feel like it, even if I'd rather play Stardew, I must make progress. It is non-negotiable. I fell off hard in February, and it was completely unacceptable. My team's future is riding on this, and I will not let us down. I learned some lessons from February and improved in March. April will be even better. I think we are on track to cash flow in late summer.
Goal 3: 1 Guitar Song
I Completely Forgot About This Because I Never Put It In My Weekly Schedule And Have Made No Progress. FUCCCCCk
